"Elements of Android R" Version 0.3 Released
Subscribers now have access to Version 0.3 of Elements of Android R, in PDF, EPUB, and MOBI/Kindle formats. Just log into your Warescription page to download it or read it online, or set up an account and subscribe!
Yeah, OK, that update took a while. 2020 has been very odd.
The existing material was updated to reflect R Beta 3. This includes significant changes to the chapter on scoped storage.
Also, the chapter on bubbles was overhauled to be a chapter on conversations and bubbles, since now those two concepts are very closely tied.
A few new sections were added to the chapter on “other changes”,
including the restrictions on third-party image capture support
and dynamic Intent filters.
And, of course, there were lots of bug fixes.
I expect two more updates after this:

Version 0.9 after Android 11-native hardware ships and I get my grubby little paws on a device

Version 1.0 a month after Version 0.9, just for bug fixes
