Android Beyond Java 0.5 Released

Subscribers now have access to the latest partial release of Android Beyond Java, known as Version 0.5.

This release:

  • Fleshes out more of the NDK chapters
  • Updates the SL4A coverage for the new r2 release
  • Adds a section on App Inventor

This leaves the following:

  • Completing the Web frameworks (PhoneGap, Rhodes, Titanium Mobile)
  • Flash and AIR
  • Scala and Clojure
  • JRuby

Right now, I am expecting to push through two updates (0.6 and 0.9) later this year to complete all of that, with Version 1.0 and the 1st Edition in print coming out in January.

Note that the book will only be published in PDF form until it reaches Version 0.9, at which point Kindle and PDF will become options.
