hello, Ivano!
Mark M. |
how can I help you today?

Hello Marrk.Happynew year! I think that kotlin multiplatform could be the next big thing and that swift ui and jetpack.compose.are.going.to.converge at a certain point, and that the community loves kotlin not dart. On this basis I1)are you bullish (forecast oriented) to going to.cover kotlin multiplatform in the near future?
trocchietto_Ivano |
do you think has some.potential? i personally see a lot.of business value
Mark M. |
I think that KMP has a lot of potential
Mark M. |
if I cover KMP, it would be in the context of Compose for Desktop, though
trocchietto_Ivano |
thanks i do not.have.other questions
trocchietto_Ivano |
I see
Mark M. |
I just do not have any iOS experience
trocchietto_Ivano |
Clear and logical as far as i know is needed just some.glue knowledge about viewcontrollers(ios acrtivities)
Mark M. |
oh, certainly there will be people who will write about KMM for Android + iOS... just not me
Jan 9 | 4:15 PM |
Mark M. |
so, I may take a shot at Compose for Desktop and cover aspects of KMP there, but that is all the further that I wish to go
trocchietto_Ivano |
well i suppose will be the majority thst will exploit mobile after all swing for desktop.is java
trocchietto_Ivano |
to be competentent is needed some.focus indeed, instead i want to embrace everything but i become a.jake.of.trade master.of none and this is wrong for my salary
trocchietto_Ivano |
i will try to stick with kotlin and forget flutter
trocchietto_Ivano |
and eventually going deep on ktor.
trocchietto_Ivano |
thanks for your disclosure
Mark M. |
um, sure!
trocchietto_Ivano |
is really worty for me to hear from experts
trocchietto_Ivano |
for what concern bacground services i am really confuse
Jan 9 | 4:20 PM |
Mark M. |
sorry, I am uncertain what you mean
trocchietto_Ivano |
confused there are a lot.of.tools i can use, in compliance.with the latest conservative save battery android politics, which one.would.you prefer to.launch services in background?
Mark M. |
I suppose it would depend on what the background work is that you want to do and what the trigger is for when that work should be done
Mark M. |
WorkManager, for example, is fine for transactional work with loose timing requirements
trocchietto_Ivano |
yes is a stupid question, 8but i am.surprised that for.long.running tasks.the official.documentation still recommend intentService or.Service, the are so 2012
Mark M. |
well, IntentService is deprecated, so they definitely should not be recommending that
Mark M. |
a foreground Service is fine for work that is user-initiated, such as a music player
