I've got a custom box I've been working on that is running Android 4.4.4 and it isn't playing nice with remote debugging. Any tips or resources I should look into?

I can get you more info if you need details
Mark M.
do you mean you are not able to get adb going over WiFi?

it's not a normal box... more like an Android TV type kiosk device
Mark M.
I'm just trying to get a handle on how you are defining "remote debugging"
Ed T.
and Android is running on top of a low level Linux distro
Ed T.
by remote I would 'love' to deploy from Android Studio directly to the device
Ed T.
or remotely attach to a debug version of an APK running
if Android is a zoo... think of this as a platypus. :D
Ed T.
wifi is super flakey
Ed T.
but I will try harder
Ed T.
thanks for the link
Ed T.
new books are looking good
Mark M.
thanks!
Ed T.
I appreciate your work
Mark M.
I assume that this box does not have a micro-USB or USB-C connector for debugging?

Ed T.
it actually has 4 USB connectors

the one I see in the screenshot is a USB Type A port, though, for a thumb drive or something
Ed T.
correct
Mark M.
it's possible an USB A-to-A will work for debugging -- there was one Android TV box I needed that for
Ed T.
but I have a USB male to male
Mark M.
yeah, that's what I meant -- no luck with adb access?
Ed T.
I'll go bang on it for a little bit and report back to you during office hours
Ed T.
thanks for making me feel like I'm back in college. :)
Ed T.
cheers
